V-LINE gets awarded by own apprentices and trainers

With the grade “very good” it is done: The international procurement service provider V-LINE EUROPE has received the first certification as “Top Vocational Trainer” from Best Place to Learn. This was celebrated and appreciated yesterday at a “thank you breakfast”. Current apprentices, former apprentices and trainers evaluated the apprenticeship program at the company, which currently employs over 250 people at 10 locations worldwide. The survey covered the entire spectrum of the apprenticeship: from recruiting to taking on employees.

The two areas of onboarding and on-the-job learning stood out particularly positively, achieving top marks. But the other areas were also impressive. Head of Apprenticeship Isabelle Hutschenreuter is proud: “The combination of the individual grades into a ‘very good’ shows that we are already very well positioned in all areas. A huge thank you to all the participants – you are the ones who gave us this award! We are all really proud of the great result!”

To thank the participants for the excellent result, Hutschenreuter was joined by Tilman Mieseler, CEO of the V-LINE GROUP, and Florian Horstmeier from Aubi-Plus, the company that awards the Best Place to Learn seal, to explain the value of the award for V-LINE EUROPE from their perspective. CEO Tilman Mieseler emphasizes: “Apprenticeships are very important to us. As a vocational training company, we are actively investing in our future and securing our own highly trained specialists. We want a long-term commitment and cooperation, which is also confirmed by our retention rate of 100%. On the one hand, it shows that we provide our trainees with security and perspectives and, on the other, that our trainees enjoy working for us. Such great feedback and the confirmation of this award as Best Place to Learn means a lot to me and the company and makes us proud.”

These two aspects are emphasized in the “Top Vocational Trainer” award and are the distinguishing feature compared to other seals. Florian Horstmeier explains: “The authentic and at the same time anonymous survey is what makes our seal stand out. This gives the companies unfiltered feedback to find out what is going well and where there is potential for improvement. It is not simply a purchased seal; it reflects the real training situation of those who experience it every day.” Isabelle Hutschenreuter also appreciates precisely this aspect of the newly acquired certification: “It allows us to understand exactly what adjustments we can make to continuously improve our apprenticeship. We have already identified initial approaches and would like to start implementing them soon.”

The company currently offers 4 different apprenticeships, including commercial apprenticeships for wholesale and foreign trade management with a specialization in foreign trade, warehouse logistics specialists and two IT apprenticeships for system administration and application development. There are currently a total of 12 apprentices at V-LINE, with 5 more starting their apprenticeships on August 1. The new apprenticeships starting in August 2025 will open in fall.
