3rd Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Forum Hears Sabic on Supply Best Practices

On the initiative of V-LINE EUROPE, Sehnde the Minister of Economic Labour and Transport Walter Hirche invited Ahmad A. Al Gatai General Manager of SABIC Supply Management Organisation to present Sabic “best practices” and participate in a high profile podium discussion at the 3rd Lower Saxony Trade Forum, a featured Global Days Event at this year’s Hanover Fair.
The Forum, opened by Lower Saxony Prime Minister Christian Wulff, featured business opportunities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Welcome comments by the Minister Walter Hirche and HE Khalifa Bin Ali Al-Harty, the ambassador of the Sultanate Oman, GHORFA President Dr. Thomas Bach and President of the German Industry Association Jürgen A. Thumann were followed by country presentations from the GCC member countries.
European Commissioner for Trade Holger Standertskjöld-Nordenstam explained the European position towards GCC and shared the podium discussion, under the moderation of Dr. Gerd Herx, German Office for Foreign Trade, with Dr. Florian Amereller a specialist lawyer for the Middle East, Joachim Werren, State Secretary for the Ministry of Economy Lower Saxony, Dr. Dalia Abu Samra– Rothe, GM of the German Chamber of Oman, Qatar & UAE and from the business sector Ali Memari Fard, President of CEMAG Anlagenbau GmbH and Ahmad A. Al Gatai GM of SABIC Shared Service.
“We are delighted that Sabic followed through on the invitation and that Mr. Gatai in particular, but also his managers, were able to share best practices in procurement with Lower Saxony small and medium size companies and business owners“ said Shahzad Haider, Marketing Manager of V-LINE EUROPE who is responsible for the firm’s Sabic business. “Many German decision makers are still in very early stages of adoption of the new professional business processes that can be installed to achieve the best performance. Sabic and V-LINE have set new standards of cooperation in linking their processes and are continuously searching for improvements” he said.
The panel encouraged small and medium size companies to participate in the GCC economic boom and use the wide range of support from the Ministry, the chambers and associations like GHORFA and the BDI. Front runners in this market like V-LINE and CEMAG could also be a source of support.About V-LINE
