V-LINE CEO joins first Niedersachsen Trade Delegation to Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah/Dammam, Saudi Arabia, 01/31/2007

A German business delegation headed by the Minister of Economy, Labour and Transportation, Mr. Walter Hirche, visited the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to establish relations between Saudi and German small and medium entrepreneurs. JCCI Chairman Saleh Al-Turki said “This delegation is looking into opportunities in small-to-medium business and some good ideas and partners in the Saudi market.”

After visiting the JCCI, the delegation headed off to Dammam. The President of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EPCCI), Abdulrahman Rashed Al-Rashed, had the pleasure to meet for the first time a German business delegation. The delegation got an enthusiastic welcome and this first contact left a very positive impression.


“We would like to see an increase in direct investment from German companies as well as an increase in the transfer of technology and skills”, said the EPCCI president. In reply to this the Minister, Mr. Walter Hirche, advised, that members of the trade mission, mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, want to find representatives and partners in the Kingdom.


While the majority of the delegation members where involved in a business matchmaker session with local business representatives of the Eastern Province a selected group of companies headed by Detlev Daues CEO of V-LINE EUROPE went together with the Minister Walter Hirche and Dr. Winfred Prewo to visit SABIC Shared Services in Jubail.


The VP Shared Services Mansoor Al Kharboush had been just returned from the WEF Davos Switzerland drew an impressive picture about best practices of a shared services organisation heading to number one in Petrochemicals in 2020. Billions of $ investment for new projects and expansion projects a shortage of EPC has already arrived the business community of Lower Saxony has been encouraged to built presence here and participate from this growths.
