V-LINE EUROPE TO SPONSOR FIRST GERMAN-ARAB WATER CONFERENCE BAHRAIN, KUWAIT, SAUDI ARABIA

Sehnde, Germany, 06/18/2005

V-LINE EUROPE announced today its participation in the 1st German Arabian Water Conference and its sponsorship of this event to be held June 20-21st at Hanover Fair Convention Centre. Organized by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Saudi Arabia the Conference aims to be a forum for discussion by participants in the Gulf Region water industry on developments, issues and trends in technology, management, operations and investment.

As a global specialist in maintenance spare parts supply, V-LINE will be represented on a panel on Desalination, Filtration and Disinfections Processes by Logistics Manager, Turgay Temur. Chairman of this session is Saad Al-Sulami, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) the operator of 30 seawater to freshwater desalination plants serving all of Saudi Arabia. V-LINE is supplier to SWCC of goods from over 500 manufacturers in Europe/ USA/ Japan.

“This conference is exactly about what V-LINE is about” said Detlev Daues, Managing Director. “So, sponsorship participation was a given. We have become a leader in MRO Cross-Border Supply, a business that embodies transfer of goods, payments, technology and good business processes for capital intensive industries across language, culture and trade boundaries. The Gulf Region Water Industry typifies the markets we are designed to serve”.

V-LINE has transformed from a small export trading firm into a supply group with  procurement and warehousing operations in Lower Saxony and New Jersey, with capacity to serve large plants of major organizations such as Volkswagen and Renault in Latin America and SABIC and SWCC in Saudi Arabia. These organizations use advanced services that focus on high levels of customer service and continuous improvement of their total cost of procurement.

“The biggest change in our business has been the impact of computers and communications” said Mr. Temur, Head of Logistics. “The computer is the key to keeping track of the enormous numbers of different parts in a large plant and controlling their timely movement for an efficient maintenance program. Our customers have been changing to electronic ordering and payment faster than many  of their vendors, so we use IT resources to bridge that boundary too” he said.

V-LINE views Desalination and the entire Water/ Wastewater Industry to be a global growth market for the new century. Good quality ground water is scare or becoming scarcer in much of the world, but seawater is plentiful. So, forecasts for desalination, water transport and waste water treatment are for increasing demand in both developed and lesser-developed countries. Mr. Daues believes 25 years experience in Gulf States deserts has honed the company’s skills.
